We know with a high degree of certainty that at the beginning of the book of Acts, the number of people following Jesus was around 120, and by the end of Peter’s sermon on the first day, another 3000 were all in, and a couple thousand more joined soon after. In a short amount of time the church exploded through the Roman Empire, all because of events which took place around AD 30.
